PADI Adventures In Diving & PADI Advanced Open Water Program
The PADI Adventures in diving program provides you with a structured means to explore special diving interests and gain diving experience. The program allows you to customize your training path and learn a variety of underwater skills that broaden your awareness of the environment, helping you to become a better diver.
This program offers you two certification OPTIONS:
- PADI Adventure Diver
- PADI Advanced Open Water Diver.
The PADI Adventure Diver rating can be earned by completing any three adventure dives. To earn the rating of Advanced Open Water Diver, you will need to complete five adventure dives; the PADI Deep Dive and the PADI Underwater Navigation dive, plus three adventure dives.
Personal tuition and flexibility means the program can be completed on a dive by dive basis over time, in a single weekend or any two day session.
To participate in the Adventures in Diving program, an individual must be certified as a PADI Open Water Diver or have a qualifying certification from another training organization. At the start of the course, all participants will be required to answer a medical questionaire as well as complete a 34 question review on diving knowledge.
- Upon receipt of your course materials, you will need to complete the self study requirements and knowledge reviews from the PADI Adventures in Diving manual for 5 of the following dives:
- * Underwater Navigation Dive
- * Deep Dive
- Night Dive
- Peak Performance Buoyancy Dive
- Underwater Naturalist
- Search & Recovery
- Fish ID
- (*compulsory dives)
Course Costs
$120.00 required to receive course materials
$40.00 per adventure dive (total $200.00)
$90.00 Double boat dive (as required)
Equipment Hire and airfills additional (as required)
SAMPLE PROGRAM SCHEDULE
Day One (Shore Diving)
- 8am: Program orientation and registration
- Complete knowledge assessment questionaire
- Review Knowledge Reviews for Adventure dives
- Knowledge development Sessions as required
- Complete 3 adventure dives. Each adventure dive consists of a dive briefing prior to performing each open water dive and an appropriate surface interval between dives. At the end of each dive is a debrief and log book session.
- dive 1: Peak Performance Buoyancy
- dive 2: Underwater Navigation
- dive 3: Night Dive or Search & Recovery
Participants who successfully complete all requirements on day one may receive certification as a PADI Adventure diver.
Day Two (Boat Diving)
8am – 5pm
- complete 2 adventure dives. Each adventure dive consists of a dive briefing prior to performing each open water dive. At the end of each dive is a debrief and log book session.
- dive 1: Deep Dive
- dive 2: Underwater Naturalist or Fish ID
- Completion of Advanced Open Water Diver Program
nb: all open water dive sites are chosen on the day and are dependant on prevailing weather conditions.
Refreshments are provided between dives, however it is appreciated if divers can provide their own lunch.
